The ten (10) years ending 2021 could best be summarised as a decade of two very contrasting halves.
The decade began with a very soft post-GFC national economy which was reflected in 2011-12 declines in property values in every capital city.
Conversely, the decade ended with the economy so strong that Australia had more than 400,000 vacant jobs by the end of 2021 and the second biggest national property boom in this nation’s 230-year history.
Much of the middle of the decade was riddled with a variety of controversial property-related government policies.
To help Realty Talk to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, Propertyology’s Head of Research, Simon Pressley, presented an insightful explanation of the many events, challenges, highlights and learnings from the last decade. You can watch the TV interview here.
For those who enjoy statistical evidence and trends, this page also contains a series of great graphics and charts. Either while watching or at the end of the TV interview, you might appreciate scrolling down and reviewing the interesting property market research.
